Summer Campers~!!

Join us for 5 days of paddling... SUP, kayak, outrigger, dragon boat and swimming.  Youth between the ages of 14 - 19 will learn, experience and build community with Club SAKE and qualified camp guides and paddle coaches.  Camp starts at 9am and ends at 2pm every day.  On Friday, parents/guardian can join in the fun at noon to watch demos, paddle and hang out with your child in the beautiful Lakewood Marina

Included experiences:

  • Stand Up paddle board - learn to stand, paddle, race, remount a sup board.  Experience paddling independence while with a group.
  • Outrigger Canoe - learn to assemble a traditional Hawaiian style outrigger canoe and and paddle it together around Mercer Island (14 miles).
  • Dragon Boat - carry on over 2,000 years of Chiinese heritage, culture and tradition and be a part of a 20 person team and race it for 500 meters.
  • Hike - walk around Seward Park (3 miles) and scout out wildlife and plants.
  • Water safety - learn how to properly wear a personal flotation device, avoid water accidents and become an advocate for water safety
  • Build community - learn to participate and be a part of community activities  

Other notes:

  • Camp cost: Free to Club SAKE members.  Membership is $140/year and Includes paddling year around beyond the camp. 
  • Capacity:  12 campers max
  • Supervision and coaching: at least 2 qualified adults will be supervising the youth at all times.  All supervisors have background checks.  
  • Requirements: Be between the ages of 14 - 19.  Ability to swim preferred, but not required. Paddlers should be prepared to be immersed in water daily. Bring a towel(s) and change of clothes, water bottle, lunch and personal snacks and sun block.  
  • Water and snacks provided.  Campers will need to bring lunch.  Lunch time will be about noon each day.
