Victoria or Harrison Hot Springs or Steveston
Hey Crew,
This questionnaire is being sent out to those who originally expressed interest in either Victoria or Steveston race as there is now a third preferred option since Kent race has been cancelled.
The Victoria race is now a one day race and we wanted to reassess the interest considering the costs associated with this trip. Race is 4 x200m. Entry fee approx. 50-$55 per person. August 10.
Clipper/ accommodation packages for two nights from about $850+ for two people sharing one room. ($425 each).
Sharing with more people or Airbnb may be more cost effective. Airbnb will be further away then most hotel packages.
Alternative races for you to select from now that the Kent race in July is cancelled would be:
1. Harrelson Hot Springs, Canada on July 27 - entry fee about $50, accommodation from $65 per night per person when sharing. at a quick glance. About 2.5 - 3 hours drive. Would probably be a new experience for just about everyone. Also gives the team a race in July and then a month to build up to Portland
2. Steveston Race - August 24 - entry fee about $50. Inexpensive accommodation, 2 hrs 20 min drive approx. But very close to Portland race dates which is a two day away race. Leaves a 2.5 month gap free of racing from Seattle race on June 8 to August 24, so not as ideal as the Harrelson Hot Springs race date.
Please answer the following survey that best describes your racing preferences so that SAKE can move forward with early bird fees. Thank you for your time.
SAKE is most likely only going to officially place one of these options on the race calendar with Coach attendance. However if there is enough interest, paddlers can choose to attend additional races.
