BBOP/Autumn Rose Iron

Course & Crew Options (UL and Spec) 

  • Iron - 6 paddlers only, 1 crew paddles the 12-mile race course. No escort boat needed.
  • Changeout – 18-mile course; paddlers change out with an escort boat.
    • Adult mixed crews will have a minimum of 5 women in a crew of 9
    • Women’s and men’s crews will have 9
  • Short course – 5-mi course; crew of 6 (no changes); ideal for Youth (<18) & Novice (<2yrs)
  • Small boat [OC1, OC2, Surfski (1&2), SUP, and V1] – 12-mile race



Fee includes: trailer parking, insurance, light breakfast, Hawaiian plate lunch, games, vendor area, and access to the beer garden (21+).

  • $360 per changeout crew
  • $240 per adult crew in iron or short course
  • $120 per youth crew (<18 paddler)
  • $40 per small boat paddler
  • CANCELLATIONS: Must be made on or before August 19, 2024. A 20% fee will be retained from refund for cancellations made on or before August 19th, 2024.No refunds will be issued after the deadline.

Planned Schedule:

  • 7:30 am: Canoe inspection and rigging
  • 8:30 am: Escort boat crew meetin
  • 9:00 am: Pule; Safety and morning Steers’ meeting
  • 9:30 am: OC6 Women’s and Mixed iron race start
  • 9:40 am: OC6 Change race start
  • 10:00 am: Small boat start
  • 11:30 am: Beer Garden opens
  • 11:30 am: Lunch service begins
  • 11:30 am: Steers’ meeting for afternoon races
  • Approx. 12:00 pm: Men’s OC6 iron race start
  • Approx. 12:30pm: Short course race start
  • Approx. 2:30 pm: Awards

Water Safety: PFD for each paddler; 2 bailers per OC6, and at least 1 whistle per boat. Paddlers must be familiar with huli recovery techniques. It is recommended that you bring spray skirts for OC6s.
