SUP

Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) was made available to our members in 2018, and this program has seen a lot of growth since.   It is one of the fastest-growing individual water sports.  Club SAKE firmly believes that Stand Up Paddleboarding can be done as a group activity, safely and without the hassle of loading up a board on the roof of your car (or inflating).

Come join us on the flat waters off Seward Park on the south end of Lake Washington. First-timers are welcome with certified trainers and leads.

  • Full membership is required - there is no free trial period for this activity.
  • A typical paddle session is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, during which you will paddle 2 to 3 miles. Practices are Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Sundays at 10:00am. Impromptu sessions are also available upon request so long as safety requirements are met
  • Sundays at 9am, there is a SUP stretch session.  Come stretch and clear your mind before going out at 10.
  • Safety requirements - Minimum of 2 members must go out together and return together.  A PFD and leash must be worn at all times. One of the members must carry a phone or a radio in a waterproof case.  All paddlers must demonstrate self-recovery on the first day.
