Small Kindnesses

Project Lead: Heidi Gainer
Task Force:  Heidi Gainer, Sandy Chock-Eng, and Laurie Rich

Many in our greater Seattle communities lack basic necessitiesso many of us take for granted, like toilet paper, food, toothpaste, socks, and warm jackets. The Small Kindnesses giving projects require little time and energy from members but have a big impact on the lives of those who lack those resources.Recognizing that not everyone can give a half-day or a full day to larger projects, Small Kindnesses offer a continuum of giving opportunities. The SAKE Small Kindnesses projects will now occur 1 time per calendar year, taking into consideration the other SAKE Serves project’s (donating blood, Honoring Outdoor Environments)as well as fundraising and the race schedule.  Most likely this will be a Fall event.

Please feel free to suggest charitable organizations to the Small Kindnesses Committee. We try to focus on organizations that support South and Central Seattle. Typically, item collection days will occur for 3-4 weeks on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with the option of Venmo or donating money to Heidi. Collection will be coordinated for both the Leschi and Lakewood Marinas.
