Celebrate Earth Day by giving back to our beautiful Lake Washington waterfront! This project builds on the work SAKE volunteers did last year to clean up the Leschi marina shoreline and other nearby "String of Pearls" street-end parks. This event begins with refreshments at our SAKE Proud event. We will then be focusing on just two street end parks - at Judkins and Norman Streets (next to each other)- walking distance from the Leschi marina. We will be doing some weeding at Judkins and spreading mulch at Norman St. Bring garden gloves if you have them. This community-driven event is a collaboration between Seattle SAKE Paddling Club, Leschi Community Council, Seattle Public Utilities, and Seattle Parks and Recreation. We'll kick things off with brief remarks from our partners before diving into the cleanup.
